Words from Sai Chakravarthi K:
What can I say? They’re the best. Fearless, innovative, brilliant, powerful, uniquely talented, uncompromising, hugely successful despite all efforts not to be. A case could be made that every song they’ve ever made is a masterpiece. I won’t do that, but the truth is not that far off. They make incredible, often beautiful music. They follow their own path, seemingly oblivious to all the pressures and temptations other bands complain about. Like MEGADETH, one of their heroes, they often experiment with their sound and try new things and yet somehow there is something constant and distinctive throughout it all. Their newest album, Cryogenik, may even be their best. Listen to it, admit it. You know I’m right.

No offence to forsaken. I just want to tell you a few things which you can improve upon for the betterment of your band.
ReplyDeleteFirstly,All praise to Forsken for their work.
Good guitaring by the lead Akshay and hats off to him but there is noone to accompany him with the rhythms while he's playing. The rhythm guitarist is'nt doing much. If this is corrected then the song will sound more complete and heavy. Otherwise no problems with the guitars part. And you need a bassist to sound deeper. Oias's drum lines needs some tightness. But he keeps up his beat.A good drummer who needs a little more practice. Keyboards well i think that your volume keeps varying throughout the song. Some keys sound soft compared to others, other than that no other problems. The biggiest problem i feel in this band is the vocals, the vocals sound flat. Sunil is trying to use an accent while singing which anyone can easily make out. His growls dont sound like growls, it sounds like a big man screaming. You need to growl from within your lungs and not your throat. There is a difference between growling and singing harshly. Priti is just totally off. She is singing out of the tune of the song but she is good and needs alot of practice. Overall i think its a good team effort. If its your first album then you guys are awesome. And one more very important thing, sit together and discuss what advantages your band has, look at your strenghts and weaknesses and work out a balance between the two. Keep this in mind when your starting your next album. Again wonderful effort, and all the very best to FORSAKEN

To start with i am happy wid d way these songs r structured. Based on above facts given by fellow mate's let me give a indepth view abt the album.
ReplyDelete1> All that remains: this track has something which all u guys hav put together. Akshay as usual is at its best, but i coudn hear barath much. keybord were pretty descent but sometimes the flow goes offbeat. Owais drums were good with a single mistake in the middle. but but vocals hav affected the song. Duet is out of order, i don know much abt singing so i rather say u both improve on ur singing.
2> Violence: i remember when i saw the set list way back last month, i was sure this track has something which forsaken will be bang on target. well to some extent i am happy with it. guitars are just \mm/, drums and keybord too good but vocals was not upto the mark. i hav to agree with kiran's view.
3> Rise up (reprise): i had very high expectations from this track. 4 months back when i heard the demo i was surprised dat 3 guys hav done a good job but this track i had expectations dat all 6 will be \mm/. guitars sounded descent in dis. drums were exceptionally better than prev. 2 tracks n demo too. vocals were good. this is forsaken sunil, liked the soft n harsh vocals at the same time.
4> Bride Of The crimson sea: here i found priti's voice descent but sunil was good too. guitars r the backbone of dis song n hats off to akshay and barath. drums were good as beats were upto the mark. keybord was good but the problem mentioned by kiran is der. overall found this s diverse song.
5> End of the day: well as a normal music lover expects an outro from an album this track has done it very well. i dont care whether ppl call it latin or wteva it may be. but this track is the best from the album. guitars r good. but drums and keybord r the foundation of dis song. hats off nakul n owais
Conclusion: Cryogenik has everything for an ordinary music lover. from slow songs to heavy stuff.... its all der. i am happy with the album and i appreciate the work done by all 6 of u.....
Best track: Bride of crimson sea, rise up and end of the day
rate: 7/10
PS: mujhe music ka jitna bhi knowledge hai, my words above follow dat.....
ek aur baat....... all guys talk abt songs above but none of them mentioned anything abt artwork. anyhow hats off to those who have done the artwork for Cryogenik...... i must say yu r \mmm/ keep rockin :)
all the best \mmmm/
